NASA Lunabotics

A mining rover built for NASA's Lunabotics Challenge, from drivetrain and excavation systems to autonomy.

All projects

Lunabotics is the chapter's flagship competition program and the project that started it all. Teams design, build, and test a rover that excavates and transports simulated lunar regolith under competition constraints, which means real systems engineering: mechanical design, custom wheels, power budgets, embedded control, and autonomy. The program is where MARS, our predecessor organization, first made its name.
